Do you remember the smell of a mascletà in Valencia…? Or the smell of fireworks? Flares, firecrackers… But also guns… They all give off an unmistakable smell that awakens “things” in us: The smell of gunpowder.
But let’s be more precise… The gunpowder “raw” does not smell much… It is a mixture of coal, saltpeter and potassium nitrate that, in solid state, does not give off much odor… However when it burns, “Pummm…!”, besides being a great accelerator of combustion (that’s why it burns so fast), it gives off a series of gases, which are what give it that unmistakable smell that is also unique…
This is why it is so difficult to reproduce this smell… In order to recreate this smell we must reproduce the gases generated during combustion. As an example, one of them is the sulphurous oxide, so sometimes it can remind the smell of rotten eggs, but that does not seem to matter, we know few people who do not like this smell…
Olorama Technology is the only company that has its own extraction system to capture the gases generated during the combustion of gunpowder, and offer an ultra-realistic aroma that transports us to the fireworks, or to the action scenes where gunshots and explosions occur…
What can we use the smell of gunpowder for?
We can use the gunpowder smell in movies (action scenes), virtual reality, events, fairs and museums… You only need an Olorama Technology smell simulator to be able to activate the gunpowder smell through DMX, through API, or even through your own voice…!
